Cusco Machupicchu and Humantay Lagoon 4 days

Upon arrival in Cusco you will be picked up by the agency staff and then head to your hotel for rest.

We left your hotel very early, heading to the Ollantaytambo train station for a trip that is undoubtedly unique. (The trip is approximately 1.45 hours) enjoy unsurpassed panoramic views and photographic opportunities as the train approaches the town of Aguas Calientes. From there we will have a short bus trip that will take us to the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu, considered one of World’s wonders.

As you stroll through the complex, you will be able to admire the impressive architecture alongside our guide who will share archaeological and historical information about the key areas of interest, sharing interesting theories about the history and importance of Machu Picchu to the Incas. The great views and magic of the place are incomparable. After a two-hour tour at a coordinated time, we go down by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes to have lunch and/or get to know the town a little. If time permits, we can visit the Mariposario, the Mariposas study and research center, where you can enjoy nature in its maximum expression, to finally take the train back to Cusco.

The tour begins by leaving your hotel between 4 and 4:30 am. We travel to the quiet town of Mollepata, and continue towards the Soraypampa valley. After breakfast and a rest, we begin the 7 km walk. (round trip) towards the lagoon, enjoying great views of the majestic Nevado Humantay (4,200 meters above sea level) from which the name of the lagoon comes. We arrived at the charming Humantay Lagoon in an hour and a half to two hours, depending on the pace of the walk. It is considered one of the most beautiful lagoons in Cusco. Its turquoise waters adorned with snow-capped Salkantay (6,270 m) whisper directly to you the reason for its popularity. On the shores of the lagoon, the tranquility of its waters and the imposing views of the snow make it an extraordinary experience. We will also see the well-known Nevado Salkantay at the bottom of the valley, both on the way out and on the way back. We will have lunch and you will have time to rest and take many photos before heading back to Cusco.
